Alien (1979)

So during the commercial spaceship Nostromo, who is on its return to the earth, intercepts a distress SOS from a distant planet. On the ship is the seven-member crew, who are woken up from the hyper sleep and the spaceship successively descends on the planet. Unfortunately while exploring the planet, a three-member team of the crew discovers a deserted spaceship and a huge chamber inside it containing thousands of eggs. When a curious (stupid) team member goes to near an egg the parasite (face-hugger) inside the egg attacks and attaches itself to him rendering him unconscious. He is brought back aboard, the spaceship takes off. After a little while the parasite dies and his host wakes up seemingly unruffled. Everything returns back to normal – but not for long.

Why I choose this movie?

I choose this movie, as it’s a classic alien movie (my option) and I love watching it over and over again. I saw it for the first time when I was nine (though I did have some nightmares after it but what kid wouldn’t) with my grandfather. I still love it, actually probable doesn’t help that I would love to have an alien as a pet. But who wouldn’t it is soo cute! Okay have to say most of the population that probable has seen this movie and if you or someone you know hasn’t DO SO PLEASE!

A close-up of the Alien egg when Kane is looking at it shows water droplets falling upwards off the egg, revealing that the shot was done with the camera upside down. (According to Trivia, this is an intended effect by Ridley Scott)

When attempting to remove the face-hugger by cutting one of its fingers, acid is bled out getting on the gauze, the surgical instrument and the floor but only melts away the floor. (opps)
